Default Epson 4000 ~ Epson Velvet Roll Alternative

I have a rather large job to print and while I love Epson Velvet for my birding / nature images, it isn't available on roll stock to fit my printer.

Has anyone had experience with an simialr paper alternative which is available in a roll to fit the Epson 4000? (17" max width)

Most of the roll papers are rc or resin coated type papers

Fine art papers or cotton rag as most of them are are usualy made in the press or sheet method as paper use to be made

not sure if a true rag paper would be avaiable in roll

check with calumet or give mike a call at EP

if anyone has or knows of it those two dealers would

    John

PS Ilford may still make their smooth fine art paper that was available on a 17 inch by 40ft roll

    Default Hi John

I did spend a fair bit of time with Mike at Levines and after looking at lots of samples, there isn't a great match to get the colors and range that I'm accustomed to.

As this is 85 prints at 16" x 12", I guess I'll be spending a lot of time the next few weeks hand loading individual sheets!

    Jim,

I don't know if Mike has any of the Moab papers but they also make a velvet rag paper .

They don't list a 17 inch roll but they do list a 13 inch roll

I have had good luck with their paper but have not used them since legion took them over

The moab paper is available in two weights a 330gsm

and they do list a 17 inch in the 255 gsm weight
