    Got to love that! Clarity and detail, the eye crystal sharp. That is one proud and regal Bald eagle. The 800 really gets you close. Just a bit of detail lost in top head feathers, I love close shots, but maybe just a bit more BG on top and L side.

    Good suggestions by Brendan. Feather detail is pretty good for ISO 1600. I would run some NR on the BG. And I might tone down the brightest whites on the top of the head.

    As always, thanks for the helpful advice - I did apply noise reduction in Lightroom, but I guess it needed more.

    I loosened the crop a bit, toned down the highlights on the upper part of the head, and applied more noise reduction to the background. What do you think?

    Very nice portrait...The detail is outstanding and the eye is fantastic...Like the second crop better!
