I just love seeing these birds that I have never seen before, and this one is great. only nit would be that there was more room to include the little feather in the lower right. :)

WOW, what a bird. you got it on some excellent BG with a very good profile head turn. I like the way you have placed the subject in the frame. Thx for sharing this little gem.

Yes it is right, I needed to stop down in order to get depth of field

That's a beautiful motley little bird.Looks like you had some fairly low light to work with ISO 3200 & 1/250 but the D3s performed! I like the OOF raindrops scattered throughout the image.

Guilio, nice image. I love these honeycreepers as juveniles, and you did great capturing the detail here. Comp, BG, and exposure look nice too.

Man, I hope Canon comes out with an answer to the D3s soon. We Canon rainforest shooters really need those high ISOs!:(

Wow...never seen this bird before ! what a beautiful bird and yes, how nice you have captured to get the beauty out - the head angle, sharpness and exposure are just right. Great job and thanks for bringing these beautiful birds for us to see. Cheers. Asif

Amazing bird Giulio, my first view of this species, TFS. Good detail and head angle. I have never seen such bright red feet. Is this the normal feather colouring or is this bird in transition plumage ?.

It is in transition plumage, the adult gets all electric blue.
