Captured in the Kgalagadi recently. I like the look back and POV but would have preferred more space on the right which I don't have.

Sidelight gives nice definition to the cat's features. Regarding more room on right, after makin this image, lock focus, pan right, make image and now you have another frame to stitch into this one.

Nice look back pose with good light. He does look like it has been a while since his last meal. I'd prefer a little more room below.

Nice beautiful sidelight. He indeed is a lean looking cat. Well exposed with good sharpness and color. Nice look back pose. Good advice by Robert re: the room an rhs, hard to remember to do that when things are happening quickly.

Very nice image and light. Like how BG color and pattern compliments his mane and fur.

Good look back pose mate, and I like the low perspective. He needs some fattening up.

lovely shot Hendri! great light and pose as mentioned.
    agree with your self-critique

regarding the "lean look" of this lion...here's some trivia...
the lions of the Kalahari and also those in the Namib desert are much leaner than their "bush" counterparts due to the fact that they cover vast areas in search of prey and water...they are much fitter too and can sustain themselves on much less than lions in e.g. Kruger.
