    A juvenile caracara I found at Viera Wetlands last Friday. I need to go back and find the adults :)

    Nikon d300
    200-400mm +1.4tc @550mm
    ISO 400, f/8, 1/250

    ACR & CS5 sharpening and levels adjustment

    Excellent comp and exposure Maureen.
    Did you do any noise reduction on the bird?

    Yes, some noise reduction in ACR. Too much?

    Maureen,

    I see some detail loss on the feathers. I would select the background along and do noise reduction on that.

    Thanks, Sid. I didn't think I did much in ACR, but maybe a bit too far. I'll go have a look at it now. I really appreciate your help!

    Very nice capture, I especially like the composition as well--looks as though this youngster pushed out his/her chest to give the best pose!

    hey Maureen, I always look forward to seeing whatever you have posted, and this is another gorgeous shot with beautiful detail, colors and composition. I'd like to see it without the NR on the body too.

    Great composition and exposure. I like the talons wrapping around the perch on the lower foot.
