Taken at my latest Costa Rica workshop, in the mountains south of San Jose. A big thanks to Dr. Robert Sofferman for letting me give the D3s a spin., what a fantastic camera.
Heading back here Jan 24th, so more coming!
D3s, 200-400 Vr
1/5000s f/4.0 at 400.0mm iso1600
tripod, natural light, slight crop, cloned out a feeder
The subject and detail of this image are awesome. I wish I could get an image of a hummer even 1/4 as good as this one.
The only thing (personal preference) is the crop. Seems a little tight on top.
Aside from that I can't stop looking at it. Phenomenal!
Fantastic exposure, sharpness, colors, head angle and background. However, at least for me an image of a bird with no reference point leaves something to be desired, and although I'm glad you cloned out the feeder, was there anything else, e.g. a flower, that could have complemented the bird?
Lovely image Raymond, love the colours of these birds, they must be lots of fun to photograph. I like the plain smooth BG and upright pose of the bird TFS
