Fantastic image, and the 2 birds really look as if they are having a natter. I'm sure this could be entered into a competition for funny captions.

Hi, Giulio. Really cool to get two of these together, and I love the dark background. Is this at the hides up north? I think I recognize the perch and background. If so, it's cool that the caracara is coming. I've been there twice but he was not showing up yet.

    Cheers,

Yes, it was from the hide near to Laguna Lagarto Lodge - Boca Tapada, close to the Nicaraguan border. I was lucky to get the caracara, as it is rarely coming down. On the other hand, I have been waiting for the king vulture without success.

Giulio, I just spoke to Kurt, the lodge owner, yesterday and he said that the king vulture has been coming in pretty regularly. If you're still there, I sure hope you get a chance at him!

    Cheers,

Hi Greg, thanks, unfortunately I am already back to the cold and grey Bosnia. I saw the king vulture only once up on a tree in the garden of the lodge.

Too bad about the vulture, Giulio. But I'll look forward to more of your Costa Rica pics.

    Cheers,
