I just returned from Florida.....where I did catch a few Roseate Spoonbills but not in their breeding colors......so my thoughts drifted back to last year on the boat with James on the Hooptie! My mind then fast forwarded to my March tour where my group will join James once again for some great spoonbill action! If you are ever in the Tampa area......make sure you go out with James because you will get so many fantastic spoonbill images.....you won't know what to do with them all! I can't wait but might have to get another hard drive before I go!
Canon 1D Mark lll with the Sigma 300-800mm lens at 800mm at ISO 800 and f7.1 for 1/2000 sec. all tripod mounted w/ wimberly head.
Excellent pose, beautiful exposure, very nice details and superbly composed too... Judging from the slant lines in the BG, I guess the image could take some CW rotation.
-Regards,
Rohan

Hey Roman, you nailed the landing posture with the swept backed wings. I have always enjoyed the colour of these guys, and you seem to have nailed that too. Great capture.
