Was able to capture a few images at the begining of the bighorn (CA sub-species) rut, that were introduce to western WA many years ago. Not much head butting (other than where we had poor views) but alot of posturing and pushing. Weather was unusually warn for Oct bringing some harsh light.

I like the fall colors and good opposing diagonal lines from the rocks and the direction the rams are running - imparts action in the scene.

Thanks everyone, much appreciated. Now that I know where they are I'll be back next year, hopefully with some snow:)

PS: That should say eastern WA rather than western WA.

nice moment here Todd...to me they do get slightly lost in the similarly coloured BG but I love the reddish leaves in the scene. now if only they were on top of the ridge ;)

Thanks Stuart and Morkel, much appreciated.
Morkel, you and your ridges - will see what I can do next rutting season. It's a long way up from this location:)
