This image was captured in Everglades National Park in Janaury 08 and I just rediscovered it tonight! Lucky me, I think! Snowys are my favorite subject as they have ability to show off their plumage so nicely! This was taken with a Canon 40D; ISO 250;F5.6; Evaluative metering; 1/1250th. There was no cropping this is the size as taken. PLEASE -- comments suggestions etc., etc. etc. Michael:)

    Hi Michael,

This image suffers from several aspects.

The image looks soft in my monitor. The composition does not work because the bird is dead centered. The whites are hot and perhaps a fill flash would of helped the shadows.

I think vertical would work better for this image.

    Keep them coming!

    Michael,

At least with some PS work you can make it more appealing, a decentering crop, a mask to lighten the shadows and some selective USM. Also a quick mask to get rid of the black BG blod would be good.
