    A bit underexposed? Looks like you used flash on this one, correct? Would like to see some of the camera setting used. Crop and pose work for me. Thanx for sharing.

    Very nice pose. This image works well although I agree it is a bit dark and the flash is a little overpowering (bird too light compared to dark bg). I think that is making the background look too busy. I also think the low angle with the flash may be lighting the bird oddly, with the bottom of the breast much brighter than the upper part of the bird.

    John this is a lovely image of the male cardinal with a nice pose and head turn. As already mentioned it appears a bit dark and I would like to see it lightened someshat. Otherwise very nice capure.

    Hi John,

    Your are suffering from flash fall-off, and that can be helped by getting a little stick, or anything else for that matter, under the flash head to left a bit. It's more pronounced here because of the bird being in a steep angle.

    Nice composition!
