    Default Geese Galore

Composite made from 6 images of a snow geese blast off. A bunch of local dodging and burning and the shadows have been warmed a little bit.

The full size image is a bit more interesting as there are little snow goose heads that pop up all over the image. I'm not convinced how much I like this image, I suspect I'll know once I've made a large print with it.

That is very out of the box thinking. I never thought to blend blast off photos. Your blend is very nicely done. I do see quite a few of the litttle goose heads, but I would like to see it larger. I think it is a great representation of all the chaos and motion of a blast off.

A higher resolution version can be seen here:

I like this composite at blast-off. It looks very cool. I might be tempted to crop darkness at the top off.

Thanks Andrew. I've been thinking the same thing re: the darkness at the top.

For those curious I used Photoshop's Auto Blend (stacking mode) to create the composite. I checked off seamless tones and colors (if you don't you get nasty edges everywhere) and the algorithm goes bananas since it can't find any logical places to insert its tonal and color gradients. So it ends up applying a color ramp and a tone ramp (going vertically up the image). I then went back and tried to counter the ramp as much as possible.

I'd like to give assembling my own composite a shot, perhaps when I have a bit more time.

Hi Aravind, this is an interesting composition and definitely fits the OOTB. And surely, the smaller version does not do any justice to the details. I like the tonal range and the idea of using the blend mode for the composition. Another vote to take a slice off the top. TFS.

Very OOTB to be sure, Aravind! I like all the details and the monochrome look. I agree on taking some off the top. I would also tone down a few of the brightest areas.

I'm glad you posted the link to the higher res. image. It is quite cool with those heads sticking out and the sharp black angles of the wing tips all over the place. It is chaotic yet has repeating patterns. It would make an impossible jig-saw puzzle :)!

Aravind, I like the look to this and I agree it's very OOTB!! I'm not sold on the black area at the top as Andrew mentioned-still very creative and thank you for sharing your work flow.:)

I like the jigsaw puzzle idea! That would be cruel :)

Thanks Denise for your feedback. I have a version with the blacks along the top cropped which I posted on my blog.
