Happy New year everyone!!!! I havent posted an image of one of my favourite subjects taking off for a while, so I dug this out the archives. ( well back in August last year ) The BG is an OOF mountain.
Superb pose, nice catch-light and nicely separated from the perch. I liked this composition but am undecided on if I would like one with more space in front of the bird too. Wish you a very Happy New Year Sir.
-Regards,
Rohan

Way wicked on all counts. Love the dorsal surface of the near wing. Right down sun angle, and sharp.
How did you focus?
Was this originally a vertical?

Thanks Artie. Focus - with these type of take off shots, I change my focussing point to one of the outer points. In this it would have been one of the points on the left. I also zoom out a bit, as it then leaves space for the subject to fly into the frame. This was shot in normal landscape.
Thanks to all others for your feedback and comments.
