Just got back from a fantastic 2 weeks in Costa Rica! I've only barely started processing photos, but I was anxious to post something. This guy was photographed at Savegre Lodge. Even though he's perched, I like the sense of motion in the wings. I'm probably going to be leading a photography trip to Costa Rica in 2008 along with my friend Greg Basco (see his photo in the Canon ad in the March 2008 issue of National Geographic). Email or PM me if you're interested. More pics to come!

Hey Doug: Beautiful Bird, nice pose, great background. I'm a little undecided about the wing motion. Looking forward to seeing more of your images from Costa Rica.
I agree that it's somewhat unconventional, but I feel like the sharpness in the head and body contrasts nicely with the blur in the wings and tail. I've got quite a few perched shots and also some multiflash stuff that I did. I look forward to your feedback on some of those pics too.
What a Beauty! You Ceratinly showed off his magnificant colors, with a nice pose. Hummingbirds are my favorite birds. I look forward to seeing more from your trip.
