I have been going through some files from the Fall. This image struck me. Algonquin is famous for moose and we were lucky to get some decent opportunities.

1D4 with 100-400 @ 400. Evaluative metering at ISO 800 with f 5.6 and 1/125 hand held. This is a vertical crop from a horizontal image.

Nice pose on the young bull Ed. Wish his left eye was a bit more open. I'm seeing a slight blue cast to the highlights on the blacks. I had the same issue with wet bear post a short time ago. Chas gave some good advice as to correction, Selective color/blue/add yellow(opposite on color wheel). Did the trick for my image (thanks Chas ) I like the fall setting as well.

Todd, thanks for the heads up on the color cast. It was a very overcast day with some rain so I just figured it was natural.

Nice head angle and wink. Blue (magenta?) cast has been mentioned. Perhaps a bit more room at the bottom and to the right.

Love the colors of the background complementing the bull. JR

nice to see you posting again Ed...

lovely portrait here, I might shave some off the bottom to lose the "cut" legs :)
    seems very well exposed!

Nice comp. I also like the wink and the BG. Color cast of fur mentioned, antlers seem a little yellowish to me.
