As mentioned the last few days have been just awful what comes to light and taking photos here in WI - so it was time to try something else again. I'm not sure if this works or if the colors are "right" but I do kind of like the photo myself though...

    Cheers,

    Mikko

This has a very nice painterly quality to it because of the lost & found edges. The mallards serve very well to anchor the eye & provide a reference point. I think the monochromatic light conveys a sense of isolation, quiet, coldness & dampness. I like it.

Totally agree with previous comments. I like this very much.
It does look like it needs some CCW rotation as the ducks appear to be swimming down hill.
Best wishes for the New Year

Lovely moody shot and well seen and captured.

If mine, I might do a bit of radical USM, say 100, 100, 0 to see if the fog lifts around the trees a bit. It may bring a bit of noise and colour in so another NR may be needed as well.

I like the composition and might even try a bit more off left and bottom.

Good for you to try something different.

I really like the soft, moody feel of this. Agree that some CCW rotation is needed. I'd be interested to see if Dave's suggestion would bring out a little more detail in the trees.

Thank you everyone. I rotated the photo slightly, cropped from the left (only) as proposed and added some contrast. At the same time I also change the color temperature in order to try to make this little more dramatic...

    Cheers,

    Mikko
