I saw Randys Balancing Swan and thought I would add this - taken yesterday. This Gull preened for a good ten minutes balanced on one foot. It was standing on the point of a rock outcrop - no room to move!

7d, 500mm + 1.4 EX, 1/5000 @ 5.6, 400iso AND -1/3ev.

I really like the rocky projection, darker background, and the sense that he is working to stay in balance.

The exposure looks good on my work computer, which tends to read whites a little hot. Sharp.

Wish the eye contact was a bit stronger.

Agree with all of Randy's comments, nice work Tom. These guys are underrated subjects in our part of the world in my opinion.
