I was blessed to be around two groups of babies this year - the first was a large group of Canada Geese this past May and the second was a small group of Muscovi ducks this past October. There's just something about baby birds with their stubby little wings and their giant feet...I can't get enough of them. :)

This image was taken back in May with my trusty Canon 40D and my 400mm f/4L. I'll never forget watching these little ones battle it out for the warm spots on the bottom!

What a great moment. Nice composition, and you really captured the whole feeling.
For me, I want to experiment with the BG color some, just not quite sure what to add.
Maybe some tonal variation, a little warmer perhaps. But really like it a lot.

Jules, the tight crop fits the cozy look of these delightfully, downy goslings. :) Very refreshing spring green grass. Can you tell I'm already tired of snow? Neat how there is always one with an eye open.

Brendan, I know what you mean about the BG. I had to do some cloning there because of a rock in the BG that cut through the top bird's head. I might see if a gradient layer could add a little "oomph" to the image. Thanks for verifying my thoughts...

Steve, I woke up to ice and hail after a beautiful 60 degree day yesterday (very rare here this time of year so it was a real treat!) I'm with you on the snow thing. Yesterday made me want to skip right ahead to April!

Such wonderful to see these goslings snuggle up together. The tight composition works well here. Beautiful light. TFS.

Soft, sweet and adorable Jules! I like the BG color a lot and feel it adds so nicely to the image.:) I do wish that one little bugger on the right had his head up just a hair so we could see it's eye.

Hi Julie, these ducklings are very adorable. I only wish for more eyes open, but this image works quite nicely too!

Julie, what a great little huddle they make:) They look so cuddly. I like the lighting - they almost seem to glow.

This is adorable. Makes me think they're in an Easter Basket with that green grass. Oh my, that is months and months away.
