    Default Lioness Pedicure

I spent some quality time with a small pride of lions in the Kalahari recently. This young lioness was busy giving herself a pedicure after waking up from her afternoon nap. The sun had already set behind the dunes and they were starting to wake up for the night's hunt.

I posted my own personal "Top 10" nature images for 2010 on my blog tonight...would love for you to check it out:

Thanks for making BPN a "rocking" photo community, and for accepting me with open arms as a new mod! Love learning and growing with all of you.
Wishing everyone a wonderful 2011 filled with unbelievable photographic opportunities!

Nice BG colors and I like the view of the splayed out foot. I also like the gentle curve of the legs and body. Happy New Year to you.

A different look here Morkel, but personally would like to have seen a tighter crop to emphasis the behaviour and to give prominence to the head, tongue & splayed foot. Something you don't often see photographed. :)

Morkel, hindsight is a wonderful thing and it is easy to judge an image after the event, however there is always next time. :)

Morkel - interesting behavior shot. So often we all wish we had done something just a little different in the field :). I checked out your website and thanks for sharing your top 10 and the reasons behind them. Well done.

Happy New Year to you and yours too and thanks for all the help and guidance.

    Morkel,

Good suggestion going tight (vertical IMO) from Steve.
