    An unique perspective on a popular bird. Love the detail in the feathers around the eye.
    The background gives a sense of the colony they usually live in.

    I could also see this as a portrait crop with about 1/2 of the free space on the right cropped away.

    Certainly different, and I caught myself looking at this longer than most. I agree it could go brighter, and with such SS I wonder how this would have looked like stopped down more, at least to get the back of the head in focus too.

    Good job in seeing something different and going for it!!
