Here is my take on the new beginning... this is a recent image i had taken while in India. I took this using Canon G11 in macro mode one morning as the flower slowly opened-up. For processing I used topaz remask to separate the flower from the bg. Darkened and desaturated the bg a bit. Applied topaz simplify followed by topaz infocus in multiple layers with different opacity settings.. Finally applied topaz denoise and usm. Hope you like it.

Beautiful work, Indranil. I like your treatment of the BG, it really places the focus on the flower. I might prefer it if the petals were a little sharper and might also tone down the upper right petal just a tad. TFS

Christopher, I see your point. I did have the sharper petals but used Topaz simplify to soften it. I will post that as another version in future. Thanks for the suggestion.

Indranil, I really like the way the petals are closed up waiting to open. Nice capture. I might add some sharpening to a couple of the petals and tone down a few -very nicely done.:) Hope your trip was wonderful!!

Indranil, I like the feeling of anitcipation in this one as you can almost see the petals opening. Lovely colors too!

Beautiful flower Indranil. It contrasts nicely with the background. I think I'd like to see it a bit sharper or crisper edge also.

Thanks for all the feedback. Appreciate it a lot.

I have reworked the image with toned down and sharper/crisper petals...
