Oh man, nice one! Great interaction, and I like comp and subject placement.

    Don,

Considering the orientation of subjects and interaction between the subjects a tight vertical crop provides much more attention to the subjects. Here is my version. Hope you like it.

Don, The light was sweet one of those times when nature shows all her beauty, I like Sid's repost and my only other suggestion would be tone down the white under the chin of the left GBH.

Sid, really like that!! Thks for sharing!! So looks like i need to reduce from the right, and tad from the left. Man, this really takes this image up a notch or two !
Lacy, another good idea... i'm on it!

Nice light and a great capture. Agree with a little decrease in the whites under the chin

Beautiful light indeed, Don! I think you could lower the yellow cast a bit and still come off with a beautiful, soft portrait of these two. I'd suggest looking at it again in a few weeks to see if you still love it this yellow. I often find after I stand back and re-evaluate an image like this I prefer the downplayed version to the original. I'm not saying remove the yellow - just a subtle toning down.

I also see some lighter spots just to the right of the bird's head in the sky area. You could easily grab the brush tool, choose the blue BG color, lower the opacity of the brush to 20-30% and blend those areas right in with the rest of the BG.

Lovely image. Both the horizontal and the vertical work for me. Choose the one you like the best and print it!

What sweet light, awesome interaction. A real winner in either landscape or portrait, IMHO. I personally wouldn't worry about the yellow, if that's the way the light looked to you, although I do agree about toning down a few white spots. Congratulations!

WOW! The only thing I don't like in this one is that it's not mine... Very nice light and the twigs/branches do not bother me at all.

Sweet. You probably took this right after I and many others would have muttered something about losing the light and giving up. Thanks for the lesson by example.

Although an chronic cropper, I really like the image as originally posted with the branches providing both context and contrast with the feather tones.
