Cold clear afternoon. I went to the river to see what was going on. It was very quiet. So I decided to go for portraits of the few ducks standing on the riverside.
I just bought a new monitor and the JPEG sRGB conversions seem a little too vibrant in color. Please let me know.

That's an awesome pose. I'm far from an advanced photographer, but I noticed a little catchlight in the eye, which is nice, and some snow on the toes...cute but probably COLD on the little guy. Maybe a tiny bit too much blown out snow, but you know how whites try to be.

Such a sweet little gal.....her feet are getting cold. Doesn't look too vibrant to me; I like it. Snow looks great, all sugary with detail that others might lose to an overexposure. Unfortunately, you seemed to have missed the eye with your focus point or the little lady moved a bit just as you pulled the trigger. Other parts of the duck are in perfect focus but the eye isn't very sharp. Thanks!

Maybe saturate the reds and yellows a bit, especially the reds. The bill and legs are washed out for a Mallard. They should be really bright orange.

    Rene:

Good input from Danny, Robert and Paul.

I think the saturation is about right for the bird, but certainly have seen more orange legs and feet on mallards before.

I had the same thought as Danny about sharpness.

I have always thought Mallard females are under
    appreciated.

    Cheers

    Randy
