Got to watch this pair of otters for a good while along the Madison (Sept). Played for a while then slept, played a bit more and slipped into the river and were off.

I like this one even better Todd. It looks like they live in "Otter Heaven" at this location. Beautiful.

This is beautifully tranquil; otters positioned nicely in the frame and the tonal range across the image is wonderful. Even the reflection has those mellow hues. This is a really nicely executed environmental portrait of the otters. TFS.

Hi Todd, all looks pretty good to me, they look as if they have just hauled out of the river, and what a beautiful scene. TFS

Nice habitat that you were able to capture them in.

Hi Todd, these guys are aways worth watching with their antics & playfulness.

A good habitat image however I wonder, would there have been an option to move slightly more to you right as you view it, to gain more visibility of them? Agree also that the proportion works very well here. I am sure we will see more of these guys over the coming months I hope. :)

    Thanks fo rthe comments everyone.
Steve: I was the one who sighted these two first but only had a few fleeting moments with them before I started a "otter jam" that would rival any bear jam in the park. I had the tripod down low, with legs spread and nowhere to go as the crowd gathered. This was my first Sept trip to the park and was blown away (in a bad way) at the # of people. All campgrounds and lodging within the park were full. All previous reports indicated late fall as a great time to photograph the elk and such with few people (like early spring) but not so this year:(.
