Default Female Sardinian Warbler (Sylvia melanocephala)

Took this shots this weekend, the first one has a bonus ;), but in the second one, the head angle is a little better, which one you prefer?

I like the fact that the bird has the worm in the first image but feel the no.2 is a better photograph. I think it's all due to the head angle.
Lovely BG. The exposure and details are great. Beautiful little bird with a lovely eye(and eye ring) Nice light too:)

    Humberto,

I prefer the second. I agree the ha is better and eye attracts your attention more. I also prefer the composition of the second with the more horizontal bird and no perch shown in the bottom right.

Very nice shot, great bg, and detail

I agree, even without the prey item image 2 is a much stronger one artistically by a country mile (IMO)! The overall perked-up pose and the killer good HA push it many notches higher. If number 2 had the worm then that would have been too good to be true!!:)

P.S. I know you wanted an opinion on which was better, but please post only one image per thread (except for re-posts of the same image). A link to the second image would have been OK. I also fixed your title on the Avian list for you as your title edit didn't show up there...

Despite the absence of the prey, I loved the second image. It has an excellent HA, nice eye contact and a better composition.

I like the first as a wildlife shot and the second as a bird portrait.

I agree with George - no. 1 a pure wildlife shot and no. 2 one pure pose shot.
For me though, it has to be the more natural, wilder one - no.1.

    Cheers.
