    Another image from my recent trip to Barnegat Light, NJ. I was lying down on the rocks for this one, I tried to get a decent exposure on all the bird but whites just got toasted.
    Using CS5 I tried to recover as much of the whites as I could. Tones down the highlights in the rocks.

    Hi paul, I like the composition of and the colors, but in my opinion you should try to recover a the shadows in the bird and the rocks down left.

    Superbe pose and colors! I like the mood of the picture.

    In such situations, I often bracket with one picture 1 stop under exposed. After I blend the whites back in PS.
