This image was made in early dawn on Sanibel Island. I am looking for commentary and feedback on whether the head angle and tight compensation are acceptable by your forum discussion points and recommendations. Minimal post in PS was done. My intent was to create a more intimate feel to the image. Technical info:
    Camera: Nikon D2X
Lens: Nikon 200-400mm VR + 1.4X TC set at 340mm
    Exposure: Matrix -.5 exp. comp.
    f/9.5 @ 1/750 sec.
    ISO 280
I appreciate any thoughts and suggestions - thanks!

    DAVE, the light is beautiful.
The fact that the bill is in front of the blue background (separation) is very good. Head angle is not perfect but it seems to be the best you could get in order to have the light in the eye (sun position being to the left). Picture is sharp and shows beautiful feather details.
The blown out white feathers are somewhat distracting.

Agree with Rene, I think you should try to dark the blow white areas and light the dark ones, in my monitor the darks areas look a little underexposed.

I like the head pose and it's a handsome species, but the image appears dark overall on my monitor. Also, it would help to post a large size as well.

The head angle and crop is fine Dave. I would also agree that the head could be lightened a little and maybe try to recover a bit of the detail in the white neck feathers.

    Handsome bird and nice shot.

I'd prefer just a little more room on top and right, but not much. I like the lighting but agree on trying to bring back some detail to the whites on the breast.
