Headed down to Phillip Island the other day to look for nesting Kelp Gulls. Had a great session with this female Kestrel that well and truly made up for the disappointment of finding the Kelp Gulls nest had been decimated by foxes:(

Right, Paul--truly a clifftop scene. A coastal clifftop, as the colorful vegetation makes clear. Sharp, well-exposed, and though you're a little bit on top of him your hint of beach and sea show why. Now, about those foxes. How's the eradication program going?:)

Beautiful scene, I love the short colourful vegetation. Good looking kestral too. Ideally it would have raised its head a little more (IMO), but at least it looks like it is watching someting down below. Would you have been able to get down lower to hide the OOF dark band?

That is one cool and compelling image, Paul. It's great to see the Kestrel in its colorful environment.

No unfortunately. I was quite limited in the angle I was able to get:(

Not too well by the looks of things, especially around Seal Rock/The Nobbies. Quite a few dead Gulls and Penguins around that look to have been mauled.:(

    Thanks for the comments:)

I agree with Daniel on the point about the dark line, but it still a beautiful capture and the vegetation really enhances the colors all around.

Lovely image Paul. The cliff face perch is really nice here.
