Here is an older sow (no cubs the last few years). She seemed to be in good shape and a bit larger than the sow w/cub. Nearly FF, took very little off top. Would have liked a bit more room, but she was fairly close.

She is a big one. Maybe from not having to share with cubs? I like the pose, the surrounding bushes, and the splash of color provided by the fish. Detail (especially the eye) looks good. I imagine this was taken in the shade but I'm seeing a bit of blue on the highlights, most notably the nose.

Nice detail, colour and inquisitive pose here Todd, I'm seeing a slight blueish cast on the bear (highlights) on my cal monitor.

Thanks guys, yes it was taken in the shade so I left it a bit on the cool side. Here I pulled a bit of the blue out, see which you prefer.

Bear looks better but the whole image now seems to have a touch of a yellow cast. Did you remove the blue from the whole thing or just the bear?

Steve, I did a real quickie on the whole image for a quick look. I will pull blue out of the tiff on just the bear though.
    Thanks again,

Looks like one of those shots that's tough to get the color right once you leave. Wet fur, shadows, diffused light from the green surroundings, etc. I'll defer to your judgement :).

    Tood,

Your method involves adding yellow overall to negate the blue, causing the image to now appear yellow. Try using Selective Color > Blue, and increasing the Yellow CMYK component to only negate the blue, without having to induce yellow to the image.

Color issue aside. I like the tight comp and the pose of the bear
