One of my co-workers elderly mother, went into the hospital this week and I've had to cover for him, its been a killer. I finally got to breathe some fresh air today and get out with my camera, seems like ages since I used it

I found these obliging Evening Grosbeaks at feeders about 1 hour from home...

I cleaned up the feeders, and applied an Orton effect. An effect I find pleasing, maybe because I was a Viewmaster owner as a kid, probably still one inhere somewhere.

I would have posted it in Avian but hey I'm just a sucker for effects...

See you all Monday, Have a great weekend..stay safe

Paul, I like their poses and the Orton looks nice. It gives it a very slight ethereal look to it. The image seems to look 3D. Nicely done.

Hi Paul, love the orton effect and the poses of the two birds. On the feeder near the bottom looks like some repeating spots from cleaning up the feeder. Very nicely done!

Nice portrait Paul. I like the effect you got. If it were mine I would crop the perches from the top and then extend the canvas a little to get the space back. Love these birds!

Beautiful work, Paul! I think the Orton is perfect here - it really softens these birds up nicely. Love the composition, too...everything is perfectly placed and very well balanced. Perfect HA's on both birds, too!
