Dark day, the birds were pretty quiet, but caught some incoming trumpeters.

Lots of fun tweaking the curves here. Very low contrast, hard to get much separation of bird from background. Left the slight blue tint, looked colder to me.

The brown marks on the breast come from the dirty water he had been swimming in, decided to leave

Had tried a version with more canvas below, didn't seem to add much.

I like the flared feet, like airbrakes.

    Advice and comments always appreciated.

Love this one Randy, I like your decision to leave the slight blue cast. The high key, low contrast setting is very unique. Sharpness and wing position is good as well. I do wish the outer edge of the breast wasn't dirty, but this is still a very nice image!!

Hi Randy, swans have such large wing spans, and this shows how large they actually are. Good exposure all round, and Im glad you left the dirty ring - adds character. I also like how both feet are slightly raised. Great capture.

Great job separating the swan from the background. I love the pose, looks like its dancing for joy.
I like the fact that you left the brown on the chest. Great detail in the FG snow adds a lot.

Great work given the tough exposure challenge. Good separation achieved, well done.

    Cheers
