    Default Viewing issue,stretched images

Good morning, i was wondering what my setting in display should be set for currently they are 1028 x 1024, i'm thinking i should increase the setting to the right, as my family christmas pic looks like we are all stretched out horizontally some... but if you send the pics for review they look okay, so it's a visual monitor issue, and it's bugging me. it's an older dell, running XP, and cs4, with a wide screen dell 22 monitor... Thks for your suggestions... i guess i could always crank up the resolution on the slider under the settings display tab .

1280x1024 is a 5:4 aspect ratio and a widescreen monitor is usually going to be 16:9 or 16:10 (8). You should set your monitor to the resolution specified by Dell that it's designed to work best with. LCD monitors aren't as clear/sharp if viewed using different resolutions other than their optimum and using a resolution with a different aspect ratio that it's made for is going to skew things.

I can look up the correct resolution if you post the model number.

1680x1050 is the optimal resolution for that display. 8 (16:10) ratio

Don, if you are trying too make an image a background for the desktop, it needs to be the same size as the resolution you have the monitor set for to look right.
