    Default Young Gnu's last moments.

This is another image of the 2 year old male Cheetah we observed taking down a young Gnu one morning, we were stuck on the other side of a small lugga which didn't provide any ideal shooting position and had to make do with the best here between two trees and thick scrub just off to the RHS.
The young gnu is in it's final throes, thrusting and kicking out as this male has it in a strangle hold.
As this is already approx a 40% crop, some may argue for another landscape crop, (eliminating the FG foliage & top vacant space), but detail, I feel was starting to be lost. I will submit this crop a little later.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers

Well seen, too bad about the tough viewing conditions but after all we are not in a studio :). Love the eye poking over the top, looks like he knows right where you are. Exposure and detail look good as well as color. Been enjoying this series.

I like you got that one determined eye looking at us. Unfortunately the FG OOF tree is a big distraction. Too bad you were limited by the conditions.

Marc - you did well to still capture the action given the tough conditions. Love the eye but agree the tree is a distraction. Still a scene I would like to have viewed and captured.

    TFS this series,

Super sighting Marc. Wow it is so frustrating when you are in an almost treeless landscape and one blimmin tree is stuck right in your line of sight. We have all been there.

Still its a nice action shot which really puts the viewer there. Excellent colour on the cheetah's eye - not easy to capture.

The eye of the Cheetah is priceless. Fantastic sighting and thanks for sharing.
