This was very interesting to attempt. I am in Northern CA and the moon was in and out of clouds the whole time. I tried to get occasional clear shots, but had very little time to get the exposures right. This was of course the most difficult part. In this sequence the exposure times vary from 1/4000s to 1s! Just at about 98% total (the last image), the cloud cover became total. I couldn't quite get the shot that others had of the total eclipse, but felt lucky to get anything at all.
This is quite an achievement given the conditions you describe. I also appreciate the time information added to the series. This is a beautiful documentary photograph, and very nicely presented.
PS I was driving through a snow storm that night bringing our daughter home from 3rd year university for Christmas, and could only see glimpses of the sky from time to time, so this series is really a treat.
