Going through files and learning LR. Came upon this Male Cardinal which I hadn't processed so gave it A go in LR.
Hope it looks OK. Probably should have removed one of the catchlights but saw it after I posted it.

    Joe:
Nice job exposing the reds here. Nice detail in the blacks and pupil as well. Yes, I agree about just one catchlight, but it isn't too striking with two.

Good BG color with enough variation to be interesting.

Looks like you are getting the LR thing figured out.

    Cheers

    Randy

As Randy said the reds look good. Cardinals can be difficult in that respect. Good job with the flash.

Good job Joe. Exposure of the reds of male cardinals without clipping is exceedingly difficult, recovery if clipped in PP is problematic at best. Whatever you did, you accomplished it very well! Detail, background, composition, all top notch. What focal legnth lens were you using?

Good job, Joe. Love the detail, colours and BG. Maybe a just a touch more breathing room.

Love the reds Joe, together with the pose. I like the smooth BG, and another vote for a little more room on the right and bottom.

I like the exposure of reds and bright eye on a nice natural perch

I must agree with above comments. The reds looks spot on. Lovely looking bird and a good presentation Joe.

Thanks Denise. Been busy with the holidays and getting over being sick. Never get real sick except for this time. Must have brought back a bad bug from Europe. Had bronchitis which turned into a bit of pneumonia.:( Hope to start getting out soon. Weather has been cold and windy which makes for bad conditions for the birds. They tend to stay perched in the high winds. Hope to do some Jamiaca Bay Snow Geese soon. Have a great holiday and will talk soon.:)

Looks great to me, red are spot on. I might give it a bit more room all around if you have it.
