First post - a relatively common bird in the UK, but still a good BIF subject. Hopefully I have done everything right for the post.



This wild bird flew right across me in front of the hide at Welney. It was full-frame, so I have added a strip around the edges, a small amount of gaussian blur to the background and a small amount of NR to background and some sharpening a la AM's technique. Other than that, no adjustment from original.

Shot: 1/3200 secs, f8, ISO 640, focal length 840mm - taken at 12.40pm, good light [for a change :) ]

Kit: Canon 1D mk3, 600mm f4 IS + 1.4x tele., from Wimberely Mk2 head on gitzo.
