Haven't been able to stop by too often in the past few weeks, due to life issues this time of year. :o Thought I'd put something up for viewing before the new year is upon us. :)
This was the first time, since spring, that I've seen the community Sandhills in our area. They usually stick around the HOA office area. There were three in our backyard yesterday, so I figured I might as well take advantage of the situation. While they are usually accustomed to people, when I opened the sliding door to the lanai, they all went into their defense poses, from flapping and jumping to this pose seen here. Once I got outside and they knew I was not agressive, they settled back to eating the feast under our lawn, aerating it as they went. At that point, I was able to get within about 4 feet of them without them being scared.
This image was modified in CS4 and DAP. Modifications included; Removal of the other two birds, who were only partially in the scene, removal of background area of lake and reflections of the homes across the pond, substitution of BG consisting of a portion of the pond area expanded to meet the size of the image area, DAP Aquarell, Accent Edges, Frosted Glass and other PS image adjustments.
Ditto on the pose, is he stretching or threatening the photographer...:o....nice work, Mark. I might have left a bit of room on the left, just a bit, but thats just me...
I agree with Judy...excellent pose! Looks like he's bowing to the photographer! :D Love the colors and treatment. Just looks a little tight to me on the bottom and sides. Well done.
Thanks all for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.
He was in a defensive pose for this, but as noted, they settled down when they realized I was just doing my thing! :)
While I appreciate your comments. The tightness was intensional. I wanted to have him fill the frame to imply he was poised and ready for ... But thanks again. Appreciate all views and comments.
My computer went down yesterday, so I will not be able to post for a few days. I do have some images of the eclipse from last night, but as my wife's computer is not digital ready, I will have to wait until mine is back ... with a new C drive! :( Not the Christmas present I wrote Santa about! :(
Like the painted look and the colors but too tight for me :)
What about "Their Back"? Or did you mean "They're Back?"
