What power. Amazing that both the bear and salmon are sharp at 1/200s. Incredible that you managed to capture the salmon as well in the first place. Already without it the image would be very strong. Great exposure and low angle! JR

A good capture Monte, to get both prey & pursuer in these conditions is not easy, congrats. The power these guys generate is incredible, typified by the water spray.

Nice to see the fish in the image - normally you don't.

With that camera Monte, I would suggest being at ISO 1600 to get a higher shutter speed.

The intense look of concentration on the bear is well portrayed with the fish a great bonus.

Monte - well done. I like the action captured and that you can clearly see the salmon. Good detail and the splash just adds to it.

Great action and I like the fact you can also see the fish. Maybe just a little lighter around the eyes.

a great action shot and well exposed despite what looks like challenging light conditions...
how far did you get from these guys - can't be easy to fit them into the frame with an 800mm lens?

    Monte,

Great image and action very well captured.

I would go for a tight vertical crop to concentrate the action. Here is my take hope you dont mind.

Love this for all the reasons given. Would have liked to see the eyes a tiny bit more visible but you can see the intensity in them which is great. Love seeing the fish … great action. I think the vertical is ok but a bit tight for my mind as it crops out some of the environment and the diagonal shore line which looked quite good in the OP. But it could be used either way if you were selling it for a specific purpose, so well done. :)

Well done on this image. Agree with wanting to see the eyes a bit better. Nice action captured and as mentioned the inclusion of the fish is a bonus.
