    For the Holiday theme:
This is made from a photo of my mantle decorated with Santas and tree. (I painted all the wooden Santas back in the 90s.)

I can't believe you painted those! Outstanding!!! Man, I wish I had that kind of talent!

What a beautiful mantle setting and a terrific Christmas card. That blue BG really sets off the reds in the Santa suits. :)

Judy, This really is the spirit of Christmas!! You are truly an artist!! The only tiny thing I would change is the light glow off the star-it has a squared look to it. This really is a wonderful card. Wishing you and yours a very happy holiday season!!:)

Thanks Julie! I enjoyed painting Santas for 3 years during my "painting phase" in the 90s. I'm quite content to explore my artistic side on the computer now.

Thanks Denise! Maybe I can fix the star, the glow was part of the brush. I got the brushes from http://www.obsidiandawn.com/glitter-...p-gimp-brushes and had much fun playing with them for over an hour until midnight!

Judy, if I may make a suggestion for the star - take a soft brush, sample the dark blue color, change the brush mode to "color", and paint over the whitish parts. It should darken the color without making obvious brush strokes.

Thanks for the suggestion but I had a better idea! I brushed on another star with the background color over the white one and pretty much obliterated it plus did a small amount of cloning. Then I brushed on the white star again, a little smaller and a little lower opacity and then brushed just a little with the background color around it and I added 2 other star brushes in the center. And I worked on a couple of other minor problems. So here it is.

Judy, the Santas are amazing. This is so festive looking - I really like it. The repost looks better to me but the OP looked great anyway:)
