    Default Frozen Motion

I took this last night up at the Mississippi Headlands. The entire scene is frozen water, including the coating on the rocks. The "wave" is actually ice that has heaved from the changing currents of the water. Basic PP including a dash of Simplify 3 to lightly accentuate the edges and give it a more icy appearance. It's still pretty close to the original. Cropped to frame, added 1/4'' of canvass on top and cloned a few distracting rough edges............

Jay, man that looks cold! I like the ice and the rocks and the subtle effect you applied. I'm wondering if you had the top of the "wave", as it would be cool to see that.

Jay, I like the way you processed this and the icy look to the scene is appealing. The only minor thing is the way the wave at the top appears a little cut off but I do like the overall look to the image very much. Nicely done.:)

I was thinking the same thing as Denise...that the wave at the top LC gets chopped off but the processing on this is beautiful! I just shot some ice yesterday - I'll have to try the "simplify" trick on some of them.

    great work, Jay!
    Is Simplify 3 from Topaz?

(I just bought a new computer so when I ever get it set up, I hope to get Topaz. I tried it on my old computer, and it wouldn't work since my computer is so old. lol)

For me, the wave is what grabs my attention. I think I would focus on that, cropping off nearly all the the foreground rock, in fact. It doesn't bother me that the top bit of the ice isn't there, but I do like how it appears to curve around and the far side coming back.

Hi Jay, I love this one and the effect you have created. The repost is my fave. I would like to see a smidge more room at the top above the wave.
