We had the privilege of watching this 2 year old male Cheetah hunt and take down a young Wildebeest this particular early cloudy morning.
The acceleration by this male was unbelievable, one minute simply strolling along, the next hitting the afterburners taking off and nailing his prey in what seemed a matter of seconds.
Here he is about 90 seconds before his success.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers
    Marc

Hi Marc, this is stunning. The way he is leaning into his intense stare, the contrast of subject to BG...great shot. If anything perhaps toning down the darkest part of that blue patch above him in the BG a tiny bit....
Well done, I can't believe how many good images you picked up on one trip...

Hi Marc, I thought the lion family was good, but this has just taken the next step up.

Fantastic quality based on the ISO. Really like the POV and placement in the frame and the colours and very rich and vibrant. The strength in the pose, lowered head and focus is compelling, along with your intro text, it leaves the viewer with the whole picture. Excellent.

A killer image (pun intended) :). With that pose, there is no mistaking what this cheetah is thinking. This beautiful image is certainly contest-worthy. Cheers.

Marc - wow, I agree on what's been said above and also like how the edges of the mound lead to the corners of the fshot, great comp. Can't wait to see your captures of what happened next. Very well done.

LIke that clean background and the "crouched" look he is giving.

Great BG, "perch", and pose. He certainly seems to be dialing it in.

can only echo that this is superb Marc...love the pose and mood here...perhaps a tight oversharpened as I'm viewing it, and also a blueish-greenish cast overall?

do you have any of the chase?

    Hi Marc,

This is right up there with your unbelivable dog images from a while back. This red-eyed predator just pops off the screen and I would guess I'll see it again on "Image of the Week." Wow, is all I have to say beyond that. Wow.

Not any of the chase Hilary & Morkel, as we were racing just to keep up with him in the savanna scrub, but managed a few of him on the still struggling young Gnu.
Ill post some of those soon.

The pose, sharp detail and contrast in colours puts this in a class of its own. Fantastic stuff Marc.
