I decided to try out my brand new camera before work this morning (first time) and was lucky enough to make a series of river otter shots on a frozen lake within walking distance of my office. How lucky can a guy get? Pretty good crop on this one and the white on the cheek a bit warm but I didn't mess with it. Thanks!

    Hey Danny,
Congrats on the new toy, looks like Santa stopped by your house early this year. Very nice of this guy to help you test out the new camera. Love the pose and the golden colors.

Thanks, Steve. I spent all afternoon calibrating my 500 + 1.4 TC combo to the new brick and in the end it stayed on "0" which was the sharpest setting. I guess Canon knows what they are doing.....sometimes.:)

Congrats on both, the capture and new toy. Cute pose and nice light. Looks like the sharpness is right on here as well. Hope to see more from the series

Hey guys.......it's a lot of fun but not exactly a toy because I actually paid for most of it from this year's magazine and print sales......well...all but $2000 of it.....don't tell my wife! :)

Hi Danny, cute pose from the otter, and echo all the above in terms of the sharpness, detail and light on the otter. Also liked the foreground. Imagine lying on ice....brrr
Congrats on the mk4, I am sure it will make it easier for you to keep on grabbing great images..
    cheers

What a way to christen your new toy Danny and to be given such a fantastic opportunity.

Nice, rich, warm light with a cracking pose. The low POV is perfect along with the format of crop. I am sure the MKIV will just add more strength to your photography, congrats.

Congrats on the new camera, Danny. I can see that you are going to make great images with it, if this is an example. The colors are beautiful, and the otter's pose is cute. Good luck getting work done with subjects like that around AND a new camera.
