A little of the softer side during the fall elk rut.

    Todd,

This looks a little soft on my monitor and seems to have a slght blue cast. The position of the youngster is a bit awkward mainly the head turn, Mum is great in particular the raised leg.

Agree with Ken's critique here, I love the surrounding habitat and mum's tentative step.

Todd, the youngster looks a bit tentative to cross, and I like the comp. your repost is much better.

Hi Todd really like this, the colours work well, and as Marc says, the tentative step forward and the cautious fawn. To have the fawn looking towards you would have been ideal, but hey...

My only thought would be to combine the two, using the sharpness of the repost of the Elk and the the OP?

    Nicely seen Todd,

I like the lead foot about to enter the water.

Steve has the answer ref. sharpness IMHO. The softness of the grasses should remain soft and only sharpen the subjects a little to make the pop.

Great color and I like the position of both elk. Like that foot just above the water as well.
