I removed two OOF blades of grass and also got rid of a few seed stems to tidy things up frame her amongst a pleasing habitat setting.

    1DMKIV, 600mmIS, 1.4xII

    ISO 800, 1/320, f/13, 0ev

Lightened her a tiny bit, Cloning as stated above also extended a stem of seed, selective sharpening.

Chris, your tidying up of the surrounding seed stems has framed her nicely. I like the fluffy plumage, sharp, and would maybe take a bit off the top, as I find the crop too square.

Excellent framing of this beautiful little bird. I find including the habit makes this image very pleasing to view...excellent sharpness.

A beautiful little bird in a lovely setting Chris. Nicely done! I think I would prefer a slightly less-centered composition as well - perhaps cutting a bit off the top.

Love the framing of the grasses. It makes the shot look so much more interesting than if the bird was perched on a plain stem.

Loved the framing...beautiful image design. Perfect pose and angle. I'd love to see some more on the left side if it is as nice as I think it must be :-)

Hi Chris very creative composition and well managed , if you have more canvas on the left it will help the composition even more. Nice and sharp bird with alert pose and good eye contact. Might lighten the bird a little more and up the contrast slightly.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and suggestions about the composition :D

I'm a little reluctant to trim the top as I like the umbrella-like seed effect. I will however recompose it with more room in front of the bird.

    Cheers:cool:
