Sharp, and I like the way the eyes are peeking through the claws. The BKGR unfortunately speaks for itself.

Thanks, all. I got another shot, but it had two people in the background plus the railing. I figured this was the lesser of two evil backgrounds.
Artie, it was shot on the paved part of the jetty at Barnegat. The gulls were hammering the crabs that day. I must have seen a half dozen being taken or being eaten, and the remains of many a meal were laying around.
An interesting note is that since I've been paying particular attention to birds' actions (I've found that a camera will do that to you), every prey item I've seen a Common Loon come up with at Barnegat has been a crab. The inlet and rocks must be full of them. The jetty seems to hold Spider Crabs, Green Crabs, and Rock Crabs (looks kind of like a tiny Dungeness Crab) and the sandy inlet holds what I've always called Calico Crabs. Note that the common names I know are fisherman's names. If anybody out there knows NJ's marine crustaceans, I'd love to have those names confirmed or corrected.
Thanks for the location Paul. I knew that I had seen those railings before...
