    Alfredo:

Nice little fellow, a new one for me.

Based on the environment, I suspect it is very hard to get a clean shot at these fellows.

The bird looks a little soft to my eye. Perhaps a bit more sharpening, but I am not sure you will be able to achieve critical sharpness.

The reed in front of the bird can be removed, downplayed, but I wouldn't do that until I was sure the bird could be tweaked a bit more.

Hope to see more of this colorful bird.

    Cheers

    Randy

    Hey Randy,

I dont think i will get criticall sharpness.
this one is a very large crop ( about 15% of full frame) + my lens wideopen is not very sharp
i will post one photo more of this bird this week.
    Thanks for the kind comments.

Alfredo I can hardly wait to see more of this bird....a new one for me also.
Sharp or not if it was the only image I had its a keeper for sure.
The only thing that detracts is the size of the copyright and webpage in bottom left...if it were me I make them a little smaller....

Thanks for the additional info on the shot. The IQ held up decently for this big of a crop.
I have a 70-300 also, and if circumstances allow you to, it is still pretty sharp at 300mm if you stop down to f/8. It is a trade off with too much DOF, not enough light, etc., but you can get very good images with it at 300mm.

    Cheers

    Thanks Randy,
i usually use it a F8 but i wanted to have an OOF background,
that is not going to be a problem anymore since a 300mm F4 + TC14EII are on their way.
    Cheers,
    A
