Took some time off work and went to Hagerman national wildlife refuge( TX-OK border) yesterday to shoot Snow geese. This group was very close to the road. I knew that they will fly as soon as I got out. So I drove ahead and parked myself w.r.t optimal light angle. Got out very slowly and sat down in the shadow of the car. Luckily(for me :-) another person stopped very close to the birds and got out. They flew towards me. Isolating one is always tough so I focussed on the last one. I'd have liked a higher angle but the birds would have flown in another direction had I been standing instead of sitting.
I have many more images to process and will post some of the good ones in days ahead.
Hi Kaustubh, Lovely flight image with great wing spread and detail. I like the background particularly the OOF trees. Pity he flew right in front of the dark green bush which is a little distracting.
Kaustubh, I love the flight pose and the detail under the wing is great. The head is angled towards us nicely. One very small patch of white looks a little bright but you did a great job w/ the exposure. Nicely done.:)
Nice work, Kaus. Is the shot a little soft? Could it use a bit more sharpening? (I'm on my laptop, all six years old of it.) Your story is valuable, a good "how-to." Gracias.
