    Default Cuddling cubs

    Attached Images Attached Images

    07.02am.
Mum with two of her three 4/5 week old cubs relaxing in golden light.
This is the youngest set of cubs I have had the privilege to photograph, quite a special time.
To me this says everything about a female Lion raising her cubs, herself on careful watch and the way one is nuzzling up to mum to the inquisitive nature of the other fixated by her tail & movement.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers

    Marc,

Seeing tiny cubs is always a pleasure especially as they are often moving or in interesting positions.

A pity the light did not help you very much. I can see a tiny bit of the third, at that age they are normally back with the pride.

    Hi Marc,

Such a sweet and beautiful image. I've decided that well-done images with parent/young combinations are by far my favorite photos over everything else.

Marc, this is lovely. I like the comp and the different poses of each of the visible lions. The pov achieved with the lions on the slight rise along with the beautiful light on the background is very appealing. I like the way the light just touches the top of the rhs lion cub which gives added interest to the one not looking at the camera. The raised tail of the lioness finishes off the little family … my goodness you got some impressive images from your last trip, I'm almost ready to leave my cameras at home! :o

Marc - I agree, well composed and a sweet image. Always like to see the interplay between cubs and adults.

Hi Marc, a cracking image and I think Hilary's assessment is perfect. The affectionate interaction of the front cub is very cute, and you know the cub to the rear is going to pounce on mums tail at some point.

I totally agree with Hilary re. this image. It is truly special. I think it is amazing to see the cute adorable cubs that will grow to the size of their mother. Well captured.
