    Good capture of the action here. For nits, the eye looks a bit soft to me, the head angle could be better, and the light looks real contrasty. Thats tough light for photography, with the bright shells, dark water and shadows there is just too much range.

    I think you got some excellent detail in the bird's wing and body. I like the mid-air catch. I agree w/ Jeff regarding the light and that the bird is angling away a bit. As presented I might tone down some of the brighter shells.

    I think part of the problem with the eye is the nictating membrane being caught in mid blink.

    The action and setting is very cool, but I agree about the light quality being too harsh...and the body angled away. I like the motion in the water, and its oily-like look.

    Cool pose and action. The eye can easily be repaired with Eye Doctor techniques. The head is unfortunately turned away. The light is mega contrasty and the oyster shell habitat makes that situation worse. The bird also looks over-saturated...

    I do love the look of the water.

    Toned down (reverse S-Curve) Shadow-Highlighted, de-SATTED, Eye Doctored, and then lightened.
