    Sadly these birds don't really do much other that stand still and wait, however shortly after this was taken he/she struck out and caught a small fish, typical. :D

    Hi Steve, i like the flattened out, expectant posture, and the colours and texture of the heron. Also the way the birds back parallels the BG line. Particulary liked your comment on what herons do, stand and wait, isn't that what heron photographers are meant to do..that way they don't miss the strike:) (however I understand that HH the 500 must be a chore)

    Steve, I like shots like this a lot. IQ terrific as usual. Excellent details on the bird and nice view of the eye. good job in getting parallel. Nice BG blur. Well done.
